Digital Retinal Photography
Retinal Photography is a simple procedure that aids in detection and management of potential sight and health threatening diseases such as glaucoma, diabetes, hypertension and macular degeneration.
The procedure is easy, painless and does not affect your vision. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete and does not require the use of additional eye drops.
Your optometrist takes a photograph of the back of your eye using a state-of-the-art digital imaging machine - it's just like having a regular photograph taken but with a very bright flash.
The photograph shows the current health of your retina, optic nerve and blood vessels. When a recent image is compared with previous images, subtle changes in appearance allow the early detection of diseases.
